Economy Car Hire in Marbella from €16/day

If all you need is to get around Marbella without overspending, an economy car from our fleet does the job perfectly, without cutting corners on the essentials. The Volkswagen Polo and the Renault Twingo handle the narrow streets of the Old Town with ease and have no trouble squeezing into the tightest car parks in Puerto Banús. Insurance and roadside assistance are always included in the price, so there are no surprises when it's time to pay. Our economy fleet starts from €16 a day.

The model you select below is exactly the one you'll pick up, no swapping it for an equivalent.

These are the economy cars we have in Marbella

Small, nimble cars designed to get you around Marbella without any parking hassle. The Twingo and the Polo manoeuvre best through Marbella's narrow streets, especially around the Old Town, and in Puerto Banús car parks, where a bigger car makes every manoeuvre harder.

Before booking, check each model's spec sheet: seats, luggage capacity, doors and gearbox type, all laid out clearly so there are no surprises.

What you actually pay for an economy car in Marbella

The economy range starts at €16 a day and goes up to €42, depending on the model, with insurance and assistance always included in the price. There's no starting price followed by surprises when you pick up the car. Hire is available from age 25 with 2 years' driving licence, just like the rest of the fleet.

Hiring for more days works out cheaper per day. That's 10% less by the week and 17% less by the month, the same across the whole fleet. The rest of the price depends on the season and the cover you choose.

Economy or mid-size, which works out better for you

If there are two of you with light luggage getting around central Marbella or San Pedro, an economy car does the job easily and parks better. If there are four of you with suitcases, or you're planning a drive out to Ronda or Estepona, a mid-size car gives you more boot space and comfort.

Pick-up at our office or delivery wherever you say

We pick up and deliver wherever you are, at Málaga Airport, your hotel or your home. And if you'd rather come in person, our office is at C. Pintor Pacheco, 4, 29603 Marbella, near the María Zambrano train station.

If you're flying in, having car hire at Málaga Airport saves you the counter queues and the coach transfer to Marbella.

Insurance, excess and mileage on your economy car

There are two ways to cover the car: a €1,200 excess on the basic option, zero excess car hire on the premium. Insurance and roadside assistance are included in both, they're not an extra.

Basic cover with excess

  • Damage protection CDW included.

  • €1,200 excess, which is held on your credit card at pick-up and released when you return the car undamaged.

  • 150 km a day included.

  • Roadside assistance included.

  • Cover across mainland Spain.

  • Additional driver not included.

Premium cover with no excess

  • Fully comprehensive insurance, except for tyres, glass and the underbody.

  • No excess.

  • Unlimited mileage within Andalusia.

  • 24-hour roadside assistance.

  • Full-to-full fuel policy.

  • Cover across Spain, Gibraltar and Portugal.

  • Additional driver free of charge.

Frequently asked questions about economy car hire

What Is the Cheapest Hire Car in Marbella?

The cheapest car in the fleet starts from €16 a day. Among the models you'll see on the spec sheet, the Volkswagen Polo and the Renault Twingo are the lowest starting price, from €30 a day, with the rest of the range going up to €42 depending on the model.

Is It Cheaper to Hire an Economy Car for More Days?

Yes. The rate drops by 10% if you hire by the week and 17% if you hire by the month, the same as the rest of the fleet. The more days you hire for, the less you pay per day.

Do I Need a Credit Card to Hire an Economy Car?

With the basic option, yes, the €1,200 excess is held on a credit card in the main driver's name. With the premium option you don't need one, as there's no excess to hold.

Is the Basic Option's 150 km a Day Enough to Get to Ronda or Cross Into Gibraltar?

For Ronda, yes, the round trip on the A-397 is around 120 km, within the basic option's 150 km/day. If you're also heading down to Gibraltar or up to Nerja on the same day, you'll fall short, and that's where the premium cover pays off with unlimited mileage within Andalusia.

Are There Automatic Economy Cars?

It depends on availability at the time. If an automatic gearbox is essential for you, let us know when booking and we'll confirm which units are available.
